Flexxaire fans are the only fans designed as three systems in one.
The first system is simple, it replaces and replicates the normal duties of your standard fixed pitch fan (note: we have yet to replace a manufacturer's fan whose airflow could not be matched or exceeded).
The second system eliminates the problems associated with your fixed pitch fan (i.e.: debris build-up and overheating). It's our in-motion variable pitch system, which purges debris from the radiator and engine compartment. The purge occurs when an actuator inside the fan temporarily moves the blades into a reversed pitch mode, and reverses the airflow. This process can be activated manually or automatically (with a programmable timer), while the engine is at full operating speed. All Flexxaire fan blades are configurable between 15 and 40 degrees of pitch in both directions.
The third (optional) system is our temperature control feature. No other fan can help warm engines more quickly and keep them at optimal running temperatures in low ambient conditions. This feature is exclusive to Flexxaire, as our fan blades rotate through the zero, or neutral position. By maintaining a neutral blade pitch, our fan creates a rotary air dam effect, which greatly reduces airflow, horsepower and fuel consumption. Either a Flexxaire temperature sensor or the machine's Electronic Control Module signals are responsible for controlling this function.

Fan Blades
Flexxaire’s fan blades are designed and built for extreme conditions and high performance. High quality glass filled PAG (nylon) material allows for high temperature ranges from -40°C to 110°C as well as high tip speed, i.e. up to 20,000 FPM.
The design of the blade shape is optimized to deliver maximum airflow and high static pressures needed to meet Tier IV emission requirements.
Variable Pitch Hub
Flexxaire’s in motion variable pitch hub allows the fan blade pitch to be adjusted at any fan speed.
All hub components are machined from solid material to ensure perfect balance without any voids or porosity in material structure. All joints are sealed with high-quality O-rings. The mechanical spring loaded fail-safe feature ensures maximum airflow if control is lost. Perfect Pitch Sensor provides accurate pitch feedback and is designed to last longer than the engine – operating up to 20Gs of vibration, from -40° to 120°C temperatures, and exposure to debris and caustic fluids.
Controls
Flexxaire controls are flexible, feature rich, robust and integrate seamlessly with onboard electronics. The system can be as simple as reversing the airflow or as complex as temperature driven pitch control. We provide turn-key solutions or assist you to integrate our system into an existing controller.
Easy Installation
Flexxaire fan installation is simple. The fan uses the same space as a conventional fan. Flexxaire custom designs an adapter plate for each application. To install a fan, bolt on the Flexxaire adapter plate and fan, and install the control system.
Clean Radiators
With fast pitch reversing, in under one second, the Flexxaire Fan purges debris from the radiator and keeps it clean and operational at all times. It can be programmed to purge at automatic intervals or manually with the touch of a button. Reversing happens at full speed by hydraulic or pneumatic actuation of the internal cylinder rotating instantly the fan blades from a working position over the neutral into reversing and back.
